It is important when submitting your poems for publications that you appear professional and format your submission correctly. Here, we have assembled some tips about your publication:
Your poems should be typed with single spacing on one side of A4 paper. Make your submission clear and if the poem is longer than one page, be sure that you have numbered each sheet and make it clear it is the same poem.
Do not submit your entire back catalogue at once. Select three or four poems that accurately reflect a variety of your writing
Add a covering letter with your submission. Make sure that this is formal and not self indulgent.
Be sure that your name appears under each of the poems you submit to avoid it being attributed to the wrong author
Include a self stamped addressed envelope for return of your manuscript. This makes you appear much more professional and helps the editor take note of your poems, as they are clearly important to you.
